Carnival spirit lights up the Garw’s Christmas
The Garw Carnival Committee held its second annual St. Nicholas Lantern Festival on Wednesday 3rd December with a parade through Blaengarw and a packed out christmas party at Blaengarw Workmen’s Hall.
Described as a ‘seasonal sister to the Garw Carnival’ the event saw the whole community come together to follow Santa’s sleigh through the village streets.
Blaengarw Primary School Choir performed a selection of majestic christmas songs to a packed out Workmen’s Hall and were followed by displays by two local dance groups. Victors in the recent Bettws Got Talent competition, Step by Step put on a terrific show before new local crew Dizzy Blood showed off their own moves.
The Carnival Committee wishes to thank all the performers, everyone who took part in the procession, everyone who came along to watch and Creation Development Trust for use of the building, all their help and continued support.
